DescriptionSeveral years back, Mr. Jim Steranko briefly opened his commission list. Upon learning this, I reached out with an idea for a Shadow piece. I have greatly admired his artistic output through the years. Saying the man is a creative genius seems almost to short change his amazing output. His career is legend. Each project he touches benefits from his insight and talent. I loved his Shadow covers for Pyramid Books as they were released. They can stand with any work created in the Golden Age of the Pulp adventures. I never thought I would be able to add any of his work to my small collection. This was a dream come true for me. So good. "Genius" is a good word for it.
Daryl,
Glad you enjoyed it. He is, truly, a one of a kind creator. Hopefully, we will see more from him in the coming years.

Very stylish! Steranko models the look and the lighting after the pulp hero era of the Shadow and brings him to life!

Marcus,
I suppose that is one reason Ilove his work. He captures that amazing Pulp vitality, but in a style all his own. Beautiful stuff!

Beautifully done from a comics legend.
George,
I agree. I could sit down and study his work for many hours. Beautiful and distinctive.

Cool, congrats. :-) - How long did it take until it was done?

Thomas,
Glad you enjoyed it. If memory serves, it was a couple of months to get it. I'm sure Mr. Steranko had many other creative irons in the fire at the time. Well worth waiting any amount of time for.

Waited on mine 3 years and pulled the plug. Even though I paid the piece in full in advance (a couple of grand), he could not tell me where I was on the list and was taking longer and longer to reply.
