Invincible Iron Man Vol 4 #13 p. 23 The Death of Happy Hogan

So here was a very surprising and pleasant pick up!

From the Iron Man tie in issues to Civil War and the final page of issue 13, this page features Happy Hogan sacrificing himself to prevent Spymaster from targeting Tony and his close friends after the Human Registration Act made him a bigger target. Initially Spymaster was going to use Happy as bait and target Pepper Potts, Happy’s wife at the time and on the day of their anniversary, until Happy fought back and resulted in them both hitting the floor in this page. While Tony was listening to the whole event on the phone, Happy’s final thoughts and words were of Pepper.

I refer to this page as Happy’s death as this was his last page where he was conscious, as by next issue he is completely brain dead and in a vegetative state that even Tony comes to terms he is dead. Despite being a prominent Iron Man supporting character and his ongoing role in the MCU, Happy has remained dead since this so it makes this page all the more cool to me!
