Dampyr Speciale #1 (2008) Pages 114-115: Duty before booty

Kurjak regretfully leaves Nina's bedroom:

“Whoof! If she asked me that again, I don't know if I would have made it out of the room. But I have to think about my friends now. If only I had the slightest idea where that damned secret passageway leads.”

At a different bedroom door, Hobbes continues his unsuccessful wooing of the chilly German reporter Ingrid, who already has companionship:

“Ingrid, please, let me in. I wanted to read you my piece.”

“Tomorrow, Hobbes, tomorrow. Can't you see that I'm ready for bed?”

“Exactly, on a night like this, maybe you need some company.”

“You're a real gentleman, Hobbes. Who knows, maybe another time. Be a good boy and go.”

“Witch! Witch! You want to drive me crazy!”

“Ha ha ha! Sure. I don't mind male company at all, but certainly not his… Not when I can do better!”

“Come, my darling.”

“You sure know how to do it. And to think that I don't even know your name… but who cares? You’re so handsome. And you must be an excellent actor, dear. Tell me… how did you manage to look so monstrous before?”

“For me, it's easy! I'm a vampire!”

“Aaaah!”

Hobbes wanders up a dark staircase:

“I'm lost. How come I can't find my way back to my room?”

That panel of the vampire's white teeth against his shadowed face is terrific.
