DescriptionOAX 2025 Pre-Show Commission!!!Matt DiTullio messaged me and asked if I would rather be blown away in DMs or in person. I told him I wasn't sure. He told me to think about it but immediately followed that up by saying that it was, "...one of the coolest commissions I've seen from Di Meo". That destroyed any shred of hope I had for waiting and seeing it at OAX. I told him to send it and upon seeing it, I almost fell out of my chair. However, as badass as it was, I KNEW it still wouldn't compare to seeing it in person. And I was right, it looks even better up close. So much so that I hugged Simone who, I think was surprised but accepted it with grace and poise. Seriously, who had the TITANIC on their Stingray Commission bingo card? Not I. Underwater? Duh. Sharks? Of course. Namor? Why not? But the Titanic?! And look on the detail on that bad boy! Apparently Simone sat down and watched the 3-DVD box set to find just the right composition for this piece and I'm so thankful that he did. And what about Stingray? He's looking moody and mysterious here, steeped in spongy shadows; a trademark of Simone's. Marvel at all the tiny bubbles. And I know it sounds crazy, but the dappled sunlight on the water's surface may be one of my favorite parts of this piece (after the Titanic)! Then there's the itty bitty Namor in the back where he belongs... chef's kiss! Special thanks to Matty D for making this possible!!! And to Simone for taking a chance! Social/Sharing |

Such a great variety of inks and line work here, and I dig the little Namor. Congrats!

I almost missed Namor! What an epic piece. Having the Titanic in the background gives it some historic gravitas. Stingray is drawn beautifully. And yeah, all those bubbles! Great grab!

Titanic sequel confirmed as part of MCU Phase 13...Feige hired the writers of Jungle Cruise, but can't find the right director as James Cameron won't commit...no CGI here, they will shoot directly in the actual wreckage of the ocean liner itself! Ok sorry I couldn't help myself...
Awesome piece, the amount of details in the background elements are just as good as the Stingray image (which is also great!). Congrats!
