Description
While I can't have 'it', I have a piece, nay the very idea of it. From Simo's mind to this awesome tinted paper that I love his art on. Pencils with minor white acrylics, which he was fond of during the era he used this paper. SO excited to have this concept for, well...the greatest X-Men piece by Simo ever imho, used as the wraparound cover to Astonishing X-Men issue 25 as well as the tpb covers for Ghost Box, prints, posters, etc. I've included the only thing I have with most of the image intact... This prelim concept is dated 2007, with the issue dated OCT '08. Just an insane rough, so close anatomically to the finished final product (see the great NASH's gallery-told ya it was a cool one)...you can actually see the genius already in something this loose. Just makes me giddy happy. LIKE crazy, giddy, overjoyed, what the f&*# is wrong with him happy.

Where it all started!  One of Simone's most famous images that turned the X-Men into classical art!

Okay, here I am! Mister Lawson...what a ridiculous eXample of truly meeting your promise. Long ago, after I first got this cover, I asked the maestro's team if they knew where this was (out of curiosity) and they had no clue. You truly are an X-Man yourself tracking this remarkable prelim's prelim down! It more than eXcels as both a peek behind the legendary master's mind AND acts as glimpse of something beyond words as only the finest images of the atom's children can bring. Congrats over and over to you my friend! As Mister Summers said back in issue one of this brilliant series, "We have to Astonish them."
