Siegfried and the Dragon

When Petar posted an initial sketch of this work to his socials, I immediately reached out asking if it was intended for anything and whether I could claim the right to commission the full painting if possible. To my delight, he accepted my offer, telling me it was for a potential full book illustration project he was working on. Featured as the slip cover illustration for "The Nibelungenlied, Deluxe Edition" published by Easton Press in 2026. This is “Siegfried and the Dragon”, his take on the classic scene from the Nibelungenlied in Germanic mythology. (Notice the leaf about to drop on his shoulder that will lead to his demise!) I couldn’t be more pleased to have a gorgeous work by him entering the collection again. Oil on canvas 60cm x 80cm (23.5” x 31.5”)
