Art by Paul Orban (1896-1974), who in 1930 began to sell freelance interior story illustrations to pulp magazines, such as Golden Book and Clues then became very busy doing interiors for Astounding, Detective Novels, Doc Savage, Horror Stories, The Shadow and more. In 1952 he illustrated several hardcover books for the John C. Winston Publishing Company of Philadelphia. Mixed media original art is on heavy art paper that has been matted to 11x12" and shows great sci-fi scene w/rocketship about to launch and space men on planetscape in foreground. Beautifully detailed and brilliant colors. Trace aging/wear to image. Margins have some soiling w/small stain and tack hole at upper left. Displays Exc. as matted and ready for framing. Comes w/reading copy of Argentina edition of book, part of a Robin Hood in Space series.
