Description
Boingy Baxter is a classic early peak Robert Crumb story (5-pager) that originally appeared in Motor City Comics # 1( 1969.). I managed to acquire a cool original page late last year from Scott Eder.

The issue appeared at almost the exact same time as Zap #4, most infamously known for “Joe Blow”, a Crumb story that ultimately resulted in an obscenity conviction for some Zap retailers, and a long-term decline in the availability of outlets for underground comics.

It is definitely cool to check off a Crumb page from my original art bucket list, especially a terrific early one and lighthearted enough to display in any setting.

Crazy wild layout and story that typified the subversive nature against the Man as part of this underground comix movement!  Meant to be published on some poor quality paper, the Crumb's art had to be meticulous to still look right.  Real nice leggy ass kicking action!

Congratson this acquisition, Greg! Great looking Crumb art. But I cannot figure out what'sgoing on. Boingy is somewhat overweight, but when the feds catch up to him he needsto lose weight to give them the slip? Two panels later he's skinny and boinging away?!?

It's refreshing to revisit a Crumb page with the dude getting walked all over by a woman, but this is awesome for so many reasons.  Classic
