Description
There's never been another comic book artist like George Freeman. His breezy, lithe figures are graceful, yet athletic and powerful. His expressive, almost whimsical faces are firmly rooted in the traditions of bigfoot cartooning, but completely divested of the inherent clunkiness of that tradition. His line is a like a kite tail whipping and looping in a sunny sky. A style that stands out in any era.

Mark Pacella understands the assignment and keeps the pace with liquid strokes and immediate mark-making. Very satisfying combo.

From Aquaman Special #1 1988

This feels so much like a tribute by Freeman, Pacella, and Cohn to Starlin and Milgrom's Captain Marvel with references to Gemini and the cosmic flight now set as swimming in the deep sea.

Freeman is fantastic. Where are all those Jack Of Hearts pages? ;)
