Happy Fred Friday!

The Wasp is one of my favorite characters.

Here she is in the new costume she adopted in Tales To Astonish #58 (May, 1964). Gone were the flared skirt and pointy shoulders in favor of a more form-fitting costume, and a larger more stylized "W" was put on the red part of her costume.

I actually really like the original costume too --- I actually have a Fred Hembeck card with her and Ant-Man where she is wearing that one. Here is a link:

Happy Fred Friday! when it comes to the Wasp character I'm also partial to this TTA silver age design as well, good choice of a character to go after all the designs for though for sure!

Lots of optimism of the1960's embodied by the Wasp! She was every bit the equal to Ant-Man/Giant Man in their Tales To Astonish stories. Fred brings the classic primary colors of her fashionable costume to life!

Fred Hembeck's take on The Wasp is pure charm. He really captured her classic 1964 redesign with his signature playful style!

To talk about old and new costumes ia a very interesting topic. I particularçy prefer the old and very classic one! Anyway love Wasp. I also like like a lot the way Fred's portraits her!
