Description
Archie's Pals 'n' Gals #219 Pg. 1 Title Page "Invasion Of The Escargot"
Pencils by Stan Goldberg
Inks by Rudy Lapick
Written by Harold Smith
Lettering by Bill Yoshida

Veronica is pissed off at Archie because his car looks like garbage, literally! He's got so much else on his mind all the time, so we can't expect him to keep his car clean. But there's no way Archie expects her to get in the car right?

Finger pointing, angry looks, and harsh words ensue. The majority of my Archie collection ends up being pages where Ronnie is yelling at Archie for various reasons. Must be some psychological explanation for that.

Looks like a stat paste up fell off of this page long ago, lost to time. But I don't mind. These 90s Archie pages age like wine. I swear, it's fine.

Eventhough Archie's car looks like a POS he's still rocking the vanity plates lol  . I love the first panel. Veronica is so angry she starts emanating the Professor X mind waves. Great title page!

You would think after 40 years of collecting I'd own some Archie artwork.  It's affordable, beautiful, and not exactly in short supply.  Just goes to show that you're a better and much wiser collector than I am.  This is a terrific title page!

Wait, did Archie run over (and through) a bunch of snails? Is that where the title comes from? Hope there's not snail genocide in '90s Archie! 🤣

Fun page with a great (even if it's dirty) depiction of a mid-60's Mustang.

Even into the 1990's, Goldberg and Lapick always brought a classic charm to Archie, and this title page is a great example of it! Veronica’s frustration and Archie’s obliviousness are two elements that combined to bring us the kind of comedic chaos that made these stories so fun.

Your collection trend of “Ronnie yelling at Archie” is pretty hilarious, but it's these momentsthat I think EVERYONE loved about reading Archie comics. Or, maybe there IS a deeper meaning there? 🤔

As for the missing stat paste up, a little lost production history just adds to the vintage appeal. The page still holds up beautifully!
