Description

Suicide Squad was a brilliantly written series from the 80's. John Ostrander wrote a masterful series featuring a rotating line up of villains. All the while, fleshing out the mainstays, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Bronze Tiger and Amanda Waller. Never have I cared so much about the bad guys

Straight from the Suicide Squad comes the Deadshot mini series from 1988. Always one of the more visually appearing (great costume) villains, the mini went on to explore his back ground and motivations. Great art and story. Floyd Lawton, Deadshot, was the breakout start of the Squad.

Luke McDonnell's art was fantastic. The stark contrasts gave the story a very noir feel and his use of black ink was phenomenal. A great fit for the story and character. Fantastic title page to a memorable mini for me as I loved the Suicide Squad and Deadshot.

Awesome! John Ostrander’s writing, paired with Luke McDonnell’s gritty, noir-inspired art, delivered a story that felt as sharp and deadly as its lead character is. McDonnell’s mastery of stark contrasts and heavy black inks sets the perfect tone, dark, brooding, and intense. This title/credits splash is a prime example of why this mini-series remains so memorable. A fantastic piece from one of the best character studies of the late ‘80s, which I really need to read again one day!
