Description

The Return of the Allies! Super-Patriot! Roman! Die-Hard! Glory! Mighty-Man! Supreme!

Within the Citadel Supreme, Supreme consults with two of his Suprematons, S-5 and S-9, before the headsets of the Allies are activated and the team enters the Ideosphere!

Very happy to have an example from the Alan Moore run of Supreme.

Thanks to Michael McIsaac for thinking of me when it came to Supreme!

I've often been told that Alan Moore’s Supreme run was a brilliant reimagining of classic superhero tropes, blending Silver Age nostalgia with his signature depth and intelligence. But I've never read it. I WOULD, if it were available in TPB, but for now I'll just take everyone's word for it!

Pajarillo and Rapmund brought a standard Image style to the book, from what I can see here, keeping the action bold and energetic while maintaining that larger than life, iconic superhero feel. I can only imagine how intimidated they were, having to work with Moore's scripts! Even without having read the series, and thanks to your description, it’s easy to appreciate the weight of this moment. Moore’s reputation for deep world building and layered narratives suggests this isn’t just a standard team reunion.

It's bascially Alan Moore if he had a full run of Superman after "What ever happened to the Man of Tomorrow?", if Crisis didn't relaunch everything Superman with Byrne.  Moore goes meta and there are many versions of Supreme (like Crisis).  One is elected to be the sole modern Supreme to head the title.

Sounds good. So, did you like it, really like it, or LOVE it?

If you're into the weirdness of his stories, then you'll like it.  It's got enough stuff to riff off Superman tropes to keep Superman fans entertained.
