Description

Loved the X-Force/X-Statix book when it was coming out but I really picked up this page because of the THB vibes the villain was giving off. THB was a revelation to me as a teen and remains one of my favorite comics today. It sounds like Paul is going to send the originals to the Billy Ireland at some point instead of selling them so I thought I would jump on this page as a consolation.

It's Pope's only issue and X-Statix was offbeat enough so he could have the freedom to bring his own artistic sensibilities.

Thanks Simon! I read an interview recently where Pope described his style as Kirby making manga and the movement and layout of this page definitely remind me of a 70's Cap page in some ways.

Cool page and I totally get the THB vibes from the bottom panels and fight scenes. Yeah any THB art is impossible to come by so anything in that vein is gold. Great pic up congrats!

I've been eyeing this page on Felix's site for over a year -- great pick up! I love X-Statix, and I love Paul's take. This is such a dynamic, quirky, beautiful page. I'm kicking myself a little as I write this, but congratuations (and if you ever get bored with it . . .).
