Description

This cel and douga set (painted cel, pencil douga) and very interesting and also hilarious. As you can see in the douga (additional image below the full art), the characters don't have mouths. This is usually done to allow multiple mouth animations in one otherwise static sequence. The painted cel has 3 layers, including the full one with no mouths, then one with an mouth for Otaru and third for Lime. I didn't scan them, but there are 3 additional paper douga pages with just mouths on them, and I mean anime mouths (ie a full blank sheet of paper with one pen line on it, haha). It really tells the whole story and is fascinating, albeit hilarious. I need to figure out where this was used in the series so I can see how they did the mouth animations in this sequence. Time for a series rewatch? Methinks so!
