Description
The muties are back from space, and in their absence, sinister schemes have ignited Inferno! N'astirh and S'ym have teamed up - between the former's magic and the latter's techno army, the team is locked in Limbo. The Hellfire club battle with a quickly turning NYC while the kids travel through Limbo time and space. Magik marshals her strength to reclaim her true power, but will that save or damn her?

Simmonds has been on my want list since his string of modern New Mutants covers several years back. He did not disappoint.

A3.

Fire and brimstone done as to depict in a biblical manner, Magik's evil side as ruler of Limbo!   Simmonds paints this as it if was done in the romanticism period to bring uncontrollable power in the vessel of the young Illyana!

Loose hearted lady sleepy was she
Love for the devil brought her to me
Seeds of a thousand drawn to her sin
Seasons of wither holdin' me in

awesome version of the character by Simmonds, he's got a really interesting stylistic approach to his work, love the dark feel and color pallette but the little batches of brighter color worked in there around the sword and of course her hair. really cool piece!

I don't recall her ever wearing an all-white costume, but set against the reds in the backgrounds and her horns, it all looks quite nice!

It wasn't quite white, but towards the end of her NM run she had a light silver armor like presented here.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

Simmonds jut this piece out of the park.  I just saw it featured on CAF and glad to see it was yours.  Huge congrats on this beauty, it came out really well with Simmonds stylings.

This fine art take is absolutely spectacular. This could hang in any gallery alongside the works of past masters examining heaven and hell. Simmonds rocks, in addition to being just a wonderful person. Congrats!
