Description
I've had this for a while now but never got around to posting it. A few years ago, a consigner was unable to pick up a commission from Stephane Roux because he was unable to attend the con where Stephane was a guest. I helped him and Stephane by picking up the art at the con and shipping it to the consigner. After I took the commission, Stephane asked me who is my favorite character.  I told him Batgirl and he said to come back in an hour or so.  At that point, I thought he would either do a quick sketch or give me a free signed print.  Was happily surprised to see this when I came back to his booth later. Thanks, Stephane!

Great story and beautiful piece! I hope to see Stephane at another Con in the future. He's great.

The color tones are so great here to define the hair and cowl within the outlines.

I also got a sketch from Steph for services rendered years ago and invited him at a show I set up locally afterwards. Great guy and artist and this one just radiates (having) fun.

Cool! In 2012 at the end of the Chicago Con, someone came by to pay for a Skottie Young commission at the table next to mine, but Skottie had already left. I told him he could leave the commission with me and I'd collect the cash when the commissioner passed by and then send Skottie the money after I got back home from the con, which I then proceeded to do. I got a simple "thanks" by email. Of course, I genuinely just wanted to help Skottie out by making sure he got paid, even though he chose to leave early. I had no designs on getting anything out of him for the favour. But thatjustgoesto showhowmuchyou should appreciate it when an artist DOES go out of their way to show you they appreciated the help you gave them. Nice sketch!

Could not agree more, Ruben.  I had zero expectations of any kind of compensation; just wanted to help out an artist.  One part of the story that I left out (and will add after I type it here) is that after i took the commission, Stephane asked me who is my favorite character.  I told him Batgirl and he said to come back in an hour or so.  At that point, I thought he would either do a quick sketch or give me a free signed print.  Was happily surprised to see this when I came back to his booth later.  And, yes, I apprecaite the gesture immensely.

That's a lovely depiction of Batgirl.  And your story is proof that sometimes a good deed actually DOES go unpunished!  :-)
