Description

As many of you know, I'm a massive Moby Dick fan and it's one of my most treasured subject matters for commissions. I've been spoiled with quite a few well done adaptations of the source material, including several comics adaptations. For a long time, Bill Sienkiewicz held the crown for the best comic adaptation, but in my view he lost the crown a few years ago to Christophe Chabouté, who adapted Moby Dick in STUNNING FASHION.

Someone who listens to our podcast, and knows my affinity for Chaboute's Moby Dick, kindly pinged me when a Belgium gallery (Septimus) was auctioning off a bunch of Chaboute's work, including a few pieces from Moby Dick.

I'm beyond thrilled that I won the piece I most coveted. It's a mini-grail for me as it's the cover to most recent version of the book, published by Dark Horse. It's jaw dropping in person and I can't wait to get it framed up and put on my Moby Dick art wall.
