Description
I am -so- excited to finally add a piece by Ivan Reis to my gallery.

Brian Bendis’s Superman and Action Comics runs got me through COVID (which already feels like a lifetime ago, right?). Once a month, just like magic, a new issue would show up in my mail order box of comics and I’d have the chance to escape for a half-hour with some sweet and much-needed “Superman energy”.

A delight to be posting a piece from this run, especially one with such strong images of his fellow Justice Leaguers (and Plastic Man’s big ol’ bug eyes) in that tremendous top panel.

Thanks, Anthony!

Excellent Ivan Reis pencils! That top half splash group image is so nice with the full bodied Superman surrounded by all those DC All-Stars and their floating heads (well...more like floating chests and heads?). The Plastic-Man expression is great! Even the published page is inked/colored quite nicely with clear definition in the foreground for the Superman figure and a softer effect for the background characters. Nice page!

Ivan Reis' luscious pencils on an ensemble page. Nailed it, Jason.

Hope they never Bendis wrong
Reis could take us all night long
I looked at Big Blue and I felt mood
Then I took Ivan and I saw you
Eyes like fire in the line
Visions burning with their light
Now I want to spend the whole night through
And Honey, Yes, I'd like to spend it all on Supes

Love, look what you've done DC
Never thought I'd wore a mask so easily
Oh, love, you wouldn't lie to League
Leading me to feel this page...

They might fade and turn to Zone
Let's get crazy all Phantom
Hold me closer than corona dares
Close your thighs and I'll be there
After all is said Ivan
After Kal you are the one
Take me up your stars and through the door
Take League where we don't care anymore...

That splashy first open panel is quite nice but that close-up at the bottom is not half bad either.

Welcome to the Reis club ;)

Lovely pencil lines, and the expression on Plastic Man's face is priceless. The composition and panel lines are very playful, and there really is a lot to feast on here. Nice pick-up!

Man, this is a beautiful page! I especially love that first panel with Superman getting a lot of head. Speaking of head, the Superman head shot at the bottom is also quite delightful. Kudos on your 1st "Hayce" page.

This run really struck a bright chord during Covid for me as well. Happy you've got a great page from it!
