Great page from Peter David's phenomenal run on X-Factor where he shows a cunning side to the enigmatic Layla Miller standing over a dying hitman she predicted would be electrocuted to death telling him "she knows stuff" while holding a flashlight to her face. Ryan's use of heavy shadows really adds a sinister tone to the grim scene that made it feel like a real crime noir story.
This was the detective agency run and Peter David wanted to write some X-Files type stories mixed with crime noir. Ryan Sook was up to the task with his new style.
X-Factor was my intro to Sook, and his work really fit the noir vibe of the series, as seen on your page. Congrats on the pickup!
Absolutely agree with Ryan Sook being the perfect artist for the noir feeling Peter David was going for with X-Factor during this long run. I love this whole issue. Also, I used to hang this in my guest room and it FREAKED people out.
