DescriptionI was an avid reader of Preacher back in the day. Never thought it'd be possible to own a cover, as they had been in the hands of a single collector. I told myself that if they ever came to market, I had to snag a Jesse & Tulip cover (there are only 5 from the main series). Here is the cover to issue 8 by Glenn Fabry, the start of the "Until the End of the World" storyline, which in my mind marks the moment the book shifted into high gear. It's the most expensive artwork I've purchased, so I knew I had to do it justice with the framing. I brought a color copy to the art store and tried out a few mouldings. When I happened upon Old Glory, I knew I found the right one. Cheers mate! (Artwork 10x15.25) Social/Sharing |

A great piece from one of the best Veritgo series, and you nailed it with the framing. Congrats!

A lovely example from early in the run as Preacher was estabishing itself as the new flagship title under Vertigo. Very nice painting that resembles paperback covers with the unrelated proportions of the elements.

Thanks Marcus! I can totally see it now. Angelville, A tale of love and revenge in the Deep South... the new novel from Danielle Steel. This needs a mock-up. 😄

Congrats, Randall! Jesse and Tulip are key, of course...but man, that bull skull. What a time to be a PREACHER fan/collector!

Haha thanks Felix. I thought I'd join the club. I'll take a Fabry bull skull if I can't get a sinewy Fabry hand. I was the under bidder (or close to) on a couple of the other Jesse/Tulip covers. These last few auctions are gonna be nuts (Preacher 3 cover... maybe $40K+?). And you're right, this is a major opportunity for the fans. These covers may not resurface for another 20+ years! Appreciate Simon letting some of these find new homes.

Congrats. A TOP 5 cover for sure.
Peak Fabry. Jesse and Tulip never looked better.
