My boyfriend and I have been reading through the Reboot Legion run together, and to celebrate us reaching the start of the Emerald Vi arc, I decided to commission a card of her during one of Jeff's WhatNot livestreams!

You wouldn't believe how many different green Copic markers Jeff used to make this one, and I think it really pays off, because the colours are just so rich and vibrant. I looooove that Jeff was able to include the Emerald Eye itself, too. Vi's expression is just perfect - sly and very menacing. Having the Eye partly out of frame makes it seem like the viewer is putting most of their focus on Vi, when they should be focusing on the real threat hovering over her shoulder, and I think her knowing expression plays into that, too. The green highlights along her right side really add an uneasy, otherworldly quality to the card, which is perfect for someone as absurdly powerful as the Emerald Empress.

this sketch card is a beauty fitting of the character! the blending of all the various shades of colors is intricate, and having the Emerald Eye built into the background works really nicely.

Hmm, I wonder if that means this piece has the largest eyes-to-sketchcard ratio out there??? Should I be contacting someone to archive this achievement?
