Description

"Battle of Midway" by Paul S. Newman. October-December 1963.

The Zero doesn't make another strafing run on Lt. Reed but turns toward the Yorktown dive bombers attacking the Japanese flagship carrier Akagi.

The Yorktown's bombs tear apart the carrier and its planes.

You know if this was a Marvel page there would be a big sound effect to mar that bottom panel!

Thanks, Miki! Excellent observation! I didn't realize that. DC war comics also are littered with sound effects, but not Dell's war comics.

I read a lot of Marvel war comics but very little DC, Charlton or Dell. My favorite war comics were actually the British Commando comics.
