DescriptionRecently picked up a set of Wash Tubbs and Captain Easy reprints and fell in love with the strip. I was mostly familiar with Crane’s work on Buzz Sawyer but Easy has a fun and humorous heart to it and I knew I wanted an example from the strip. Crane used assistants extensively and always claimed Leslie Turner was the best one he ever had so while most of the nice early pieces were out of my price range I came across this beautiful strip from after Turner took over Easy for a criminally low price. Can’t go wrong with that center panel of Easy about to take on an alligator underwater!Social/Sharing |

The 2nd and thrid panels may be the standouts, but I like the first panel use of the duo tone to have the gator in stealth mode until disturbed.
