Description

A second "All-Star Squadron - Reimagined!" cover, with Bambos Georgiou using Jack Kirby's cover to Marvel Premiere #29 to replace that of the seventh issue of All-Star Squadron, since both have similar premises - a group of heroes bursting through a newspaper page showing the date and an event of historical significance (in this instance the JSA's disbanding to allow the members of the team to join up, in the aftermath of Pearl Harbour). I asked for the headline and banner to be taken from the one on the splash page of issue #7 (with a slight tweak).

The members of the Squadron who appear in that issue map across surprisingly well (I think) to the Liberty Legion who appeared in the Marvel Premiere issue - a patriotic hero, a winged hero, a stretchy character, a speedster, a strongman, a flying woman - even if I had to as Bambos to do a bit of juggling to make them work on the cover, hence Robotman, rather than Liberty Belle, replacing the Patriot.

They map across well. Even if they didn't, these covers bursting out of newspapers/ the cover itself never seem to get old and is part of the comics tradition.
