Day 17. Thirty-one days of Star Wars (2026 edition).

Leading up to this moment, with five bodies crammed into the tiny cockpit of a crashing starfighter, Farzala Tarabal has managed a somewhat graceful landing on a beach. The five clamber out of the cockpit, relieved to have made it to the surface. Not wanting to wait for another life-threatening battle, Zeen Mrala kneels down and proposes to Lula Talisola. As she proffers the Tarkin family ceremonial bracelet to her partner, Talisola puts the one she fashioned onto Mrala's wrist. The two both eagerly accept the other's proposal.

I was incredibly happy to be able to acquire both pages I am posting today; a two page simultaneous proposal sequence between Lula Talisola and Zeen Mrala. Thanks to Le Beau Underwood who inked these boards over printed blue lines of Harvey's pencils, and he graciously allowed me a couple of time payments last year to make it all possible.

When looking at the month of May, I saved these pages especially for today, which is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. This day commemorates the World Health Organization removing homosexuality from the list of mental disorders in 1990. My wife's cousin lost his husband last year. My aunt lost her wife and partner of 40 years last month. I can attest there are no disorders at play, and I love them all dearly. I can't help but recognize their authentic selves, celebrate their lives, relationships, and resilience, while being honored to be part of their family and community.
