Description

Some pieces you simply fall in love with at first sight and simply have to see if it’s available. Vic Hollins’ “Of Thorns and Soul” was one of those pieces. As soon as I saw Vic share this gorgeous piece on Instagram I decided to send her an email to see if she was available. As luck would have it Vic told me that she had created the piece to submit to a show but would be happy to sell her to me if I wanted to give her a happy home. Of course I couldn’t help myself and she was soon on her way to her forever home.

Vic said the piece was inspired by all of the colors of cactus blooming in Tucson while she was painting the piece. It was such a pleasure purchasing her from Vic and I could tell she really appreciated me adding her to my collection. Always love supporting artists like that. Just makes it so much more rewarding to experience those connections.

As soon as I saw her I immediately fell for this beautiful prickly gal. She is absolutely stunning. Her pose is so wonderfully emotive. She’s gotten herself into a very thorny situation but that isn’t stopping her from carrying on. The cactus blooms are so lovely with wonderful detail. Simply a breathtaking piece from this amazing artist and one at I’m so happy to have in my collection. I’m glad I decided to reach out and ask if I could purchase her. Sometimes I forget all you have to do is ask the artist about a piece you love. The worst they can do is simply ignore you or tell you no but it never hurts to ask.

Pleasure and pain, like sunshne and rain. Just like the cactii in bloom, her pretty face will test how much pain you can withstand.
