Description
"Across a Crowded Room..." is my single favorite Justice League story! It's also my single favorite Comic Book of 1988! It's the After-Party (or Cast Party) for the show that was Invasion and in some ways the casting session for Justice League Europe.

Panel One: Maxwell Lord wonders what's going on downstairs and Martian Manhunter doesn't even want to know.

Panel Two: Oberon tosses his recruitment papers as all the heroes try to squeeze through a hole in the wall leading to the kitchen to go after the Khund Commando Squad.

Panel Three: Elongated Man, Power Girl, Rocket Red, Booster Gold and Firestorm lead the pack at the opening in the wall.

Panel Four: Power Girl tosses the Refrigerator at the Khund Commando Squad members creating another hole in the kitchen.

Panel Five: Two of the Khunds fall over, stuck in the second hole in the wall - - as the other Khunds make a run for it.

Panel Six: Elongated Man warns Power Girl that she almost stepped on The Atom!

In conclusion, Bwa-ha-Mutha-F@#$%in'-ha!

Wow, this is an even better page than the last one. Pages from your all-time favourite Justice League story came up for auction and you went absolutely hogwild and won them all?!? Congrats, at least on these first two!

It's staged a lot like a sitcom with how the set up will build frustration before the payoff!

That second panel is so perfect. Maguire's mastery of the human (and non-human) forms is fully displayed here. Love Dibny's eye's in the last panel.

I wish The Creeper would pinch me. I would pay good money.

Shit my bad, I stand corrected, 4 so far! I even commented on those first 2 earlier in the year - too many pages of art to remember, sorry!

The humor on the series is what made it memorable, which came from Keith Giffen and  J. M. DeMatteis!
