Morpheus [Sandman] & the Owl

This was a bit of an accidental commission—the piece I was interested in had flown the coop long ago, so Miguelanxo Prado graciously offered to create another one—and I absolutely love the outcome. Somehow it seems to have turned out even more beautifully than the one I had originally taken notice of.

I particularly like the look on Morpheus's face, it’s the perfect mix of attitude and mystery. And the owl's face somehow seems to reflect the same; like they are both giving you that judgemental, knowing stare. They look right through you, as if they’re sharing some introspection you're not in on… but you know it's probably about you! As is often the case with this artist's creations, every time I look at it, I notice something new. And honestly, I couldn’t be happier to have ended up with this one.
