Description"And Here I'll Stand" by Roy Thomas. Cover date July 1971.GCD summary: Namor heads to the surface world to search for Llyra and connect with his human heritage. In New York, the former prince turns the abandoned Prison Island into his home, which quickly draws the ire of the city. After skirmishes with the harbor police and National Guard, officials elect to destroy the island. Diane tells Namor that his father may be alive. The appeal of this page is military equipment pencilled by Ross Andru. Andru's early career included the many war titles published by Pines as well as Marvel and DC during the Korean conflict. Namor's a squatter and the landlord ain't happy! He's not paying the HOA fees on the island either! The military is mobilized along Broadway all to get rid of one illegal immigrant who didn't bring President Nixon a glass trophy with a gold base that has a check taped underneath!

The appeal of this page for me is that amazing 4th panel, showing the amazing celebration of the Army that your country celebrated back in June. Seeing the crowds in abject silence, probably due to the overwhelming feelings of awesomeness they must've been taken over by, as the great squeaks coming from the tanks echoed far and wide!

Hahaha! Thanks, Rubén! I also see a parallel between recent events and the first two panels. The fourth and fifth panels remind me of Godzilla movies.
