Description

The nocturnal creature managed to bite through Wonder Woman's bracelet and she was not pleased!
I love everything about this sequence.
The top of the page has 'Carpe Noctum' in the title space which makes me wonder if the short series started out with a snappier title than what it was finally published with: "Superman and Batman vs. Vampires and Werewolves" (not a joke, and it is a good read).

Mandrake giving us the supernatural action we loved in the Spectre! His use of heavy inks for shadows and flowing linework sets the mood of the story! Many textures in the piece all made more tactile through the brushwork. The first panel itself is a clinic.

Thank you for the thoughts, Marcus. I agree. My favourite artworks are usually the masterclasses in inkwork and flow within & between panels. Seeing the qualities that you so elegantly stated come together like this make the artwork a peak for what I hope to find when collecting art or reading a darn fine comic book.
