DescriptionHere's my second of three pages from GI Joe #2. Since the first issue sold complete, I zeroed in on multiple pages from issue 2 & a top want was this page. Risk is a new character to the Joe ranks! I love that Tom, alongside series writer Joshua Williamson, create a visually distinctive character in Risk. A three piece suit wearing former cage fighter who specializes in risk assessment, yeah, that's fun! This is the page where Hawk brings in Risk to officially join the Joes. There is immediate friction between Risk & Duke, as Duke had no say in Risk joining. The full page panel on the left really sells the calm & collected swagger of this new character, as well as showing the immediate objections from Duke. Tom does it all so well, the action beats, the smaller character moments, all told in a visually interesting and enjoyable way. As a longtime fan of the GI Joe characters, I'm thrilled to see Tom sign an exclusive contract with Skybound & eager to see his return on GI Joe #13 soon! Social/Sharing |

Hmmm... Three piece suit and a former cage fighter. Does he speak in a French accent and like dinosaur bones?

Man if I didnt have the context from the title and your description Id think this was some deep cut indie crime noir comic based on the art! Really cool look to this character introduction. Congrats on more Joes art!

Risk is a smooth operator and probably underrated because he has the slim and suave debonaire figure. A new character to join the Joe ranks, and he might be set up as the wildcard to victory as his whole dossier has yet to be revealed.

Personally, Risk gives me big time "douche" vibes, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess he WILL become the douchy nemesis to Duke! He dresses well, though...
