Description
This double page commission was completed November 2006. I set this up directly with Bob Layton via email two months prior to that. As always, Bob was great with communication along the way and emailed me a prelim of his design for feedback prior to going ahead with the final drawing.

Every fake comic deserves a fake promotional poster, I figure. With that basic idea in mind, I asked Mr. Layton for an over-sized, montage-style drawing that would showcase the highlights of my faux comic book King Size Marvel Two in One # 8. Bob took my very rough, cut and paste layout and turned it into a true gem.

Here is the lineup of characters seen in this drawing:

(Top row): Manduu the Merciless, a Deviant from Jack Kirby's Eternals series, Tomb of Dracula, Ringmaster, Brain Drain.

(bottom row): Red Sonja, Conan the Barbarian, Doctor Strange, the Thing, Alicia Masters, and Rajah from the Circus of Crime.

(bottom-right corner): Princess Python, the Crafty Clown, and Live Wire.

Needless to say, I am thrilled with how this turned out. Thanks to Bob for putting everything into this one. All the extra work is greatly appreciated from this very happy repeat customer!

This is just amazing. What next? An Essentials type edition?, A Hardcover Masterworks edition? This could quite possibly be the greatset story never told, except that it has been. Congrats Brian

Wait, wait, is that a four-armed elephant grabbing Princess Python? And loony Nazi scientist Brain Drain? And an octopus? And is Red Sonja fighting a pirate cat? Damn, now I wish this was a real comic book, so I could read it! Absolutely fantastic commission!
