Congratulations on this wonderful Jaime page! I hope to add another one to my collection, but it keeps gettng tougher and tougher. Someday...
Congrats on a gorgeous page! I love the lettering and so many wonderfully drawn characters and expressions creating a lot of story in just 4 panels.
The 80's mall scene was all about this! You better have some Reeboks, British Knights, LA Gear, etc. to fit in or you'd be some spaz that's hella trippin'.
Super page, Mark! You may have your grail page, but I don't think you'll run out of great Jaime material to collect
It's tough to collect art after you've already acquired your absolute favourite piece, because in a sense, it's all downhill from there. But thankfully you enjoy Jaime's art enough and it's available often enough that you'll continue to have opportunities to add more, yet be selective about it. This is a great example of that!
I'm so glad you ended up with this page. Such a one-off classic of mid-1980s Jaime. I especially like his styling of teen Ray's clothing. It is somewhat poignant to now see this knowing how life treats those two; I wonder if Jaime had already plotted some of that future when he drew this. I don't remember thinking Ray and Doyle were particularly important characters back then.
Not easy neither cheap to collect great pages by Jaime Hernandez! This one is a superb example of his art!!!
Love it!! I was kicking myself for forgetting this auction or at least not putting in a proxy. Glad you got it, Mark!
This title page has a lot of character (and characters!). I love the all silhouette panel containing the title and the mall setting of the story. I can tell each Jaime piece is meaningful to you based on how you talk about them! congrats on another great addition.
A superb example. Genius everywhere. Congrats Mark!
Lots of great cartooning on this one! Congrats!
Love this page. Jaime had a blast indeed.
Such a fun page from Xaime
Great page, Mark. I was sorely tempted as I already own two pages from this story. It's a great one.
I love it when Jaimie lets himself be more "cartoony". That and the silhouettes, and the lettering of the title and sound effects.
What an absolute beauty.
What a great page. The storytelling genius of that last panel with the two parallel Rays - I still remember this page vividly since the first time I saw it decades ago.
Congrats! That's a really fun page.
