DescriptionTHE moment that changed Spider-man and the Marvel Universe forever. Amid the Battle Spidey would receive the most valuable and consequential black ball of Goop in History...and concurrent with it..the most valuable image of a black ball ever drawn on an art page…!! As a Mega fan of the Secret Wars series this page stood out as one of my all-time favorite pages. I had an image years ago that “If ever this page appeared I would do everything possible to acquire it”. The magic of this most memorable Marvel moment. The history being shown, the origin of his black costume…how it came to be. Making this the in continuity actual first appearance page and origin of the Symbiote that would later become his most vicious villianous Venom.. To me and unequivocally this page is the most impactful spiderman event moment of the modern age… And for certain one of the most impactful pages for the whole modern comic era based on what the black costume would become and its affect on so many other heroes and villains across the marvel universe... In each collectors art journey there are typically only a few moments where there is an opportunity for something of this magnitude and significance and this was one of mine. One of the most awesome representations of the panels is we see how once Spider-man has the black ball in hand his spider sense begins ringing. ..It is the first and only time in comic history that spider-man’s spidey sense warns him that this Symbiote entity is a danger… For notice once it begins creeping up his arm his spider sense stops! The bonding had already begun. And as we know one of the things that makes Venom so dangerous and tough to beat for Spidey is that his spider sense doesnt work around the Symbiote. So the specialness of seeing the one moment where it warns him is right there showing forecasting that there would be major consequences to wearing this “costume” a mystery that would unfold later.. The ensuing success and storylines that would develop from this very moment into the Mythos of Venom, his comics, movies, other symbiotes. His huge affect on the marvel universe as a whole all began from these panels.. I feel the great honor of having this piece of major marvel history.. as it feels honored to be in the cosmic comic art home of the Phoenix Gallery. So fitting with this being from Secret Wars I kept my ownership of the page a secret until now..and as all great things become revealed in the cosmic scheme of existence here is my reveal of this monumental marvel moment.. DAMN IT! I've been wondering where this piece was for so long, ready to make my top offer of $2,750,000 for it, only to fins out it's available but you want $50,000 more than I can afford! Ah well, them's the breaks. There's a lot more art to buy with my $2.75 million in any case, right? Congrats on the great page!

..and alas Ruben you received the reveal to the answer you sought..now you know..and wow you are close...epically close to the price! And it was amid discussions with other great cosmic beings including the living tribunal who chimed in that 2.8 was the properly judged price..as it represented both the cosmic principle of 2 (Symbiote and host) and that 8 is the significant issue..hence 2.8 and this occured on a world millions of miles away hence the millions. And when the Tribunal comes forth to issue Judgment that IS then what it is..and yet with your 2.75 there is absolutely many great things you can acquire for such a sum...however the Symbiote then will remain here...and thx for the appreciation...😈 🕷️

Well yes! A Historic achievement to make a small black ball into one of the most iconic moments and figures in comics...and pop culture. This Universe (Illusion) is a strange form of existence.

The question to consider. Is this better than the page with Spider-Man following this where he looks like he is about to take a dump?
