Description
A nice Ragman page has been quite the bucket list item for me for quite a while.

Not sure where Joe Kubert starts and Redondo ends but it's a nice example and I'm happy to have it in my collection of oddball and misfit characters.

Nice page!  This smacks you in the face (or is that the first panel).

Alleys were created for scenes like this! Very nice looking page and sequence of panels, congrats on the longtime bucketlist addition!

Great movement throughout, both by the figures and the viewer's perspective.

Wild concept.  Excellent execution!  The late 70's experimentation to bring in new audiences took big chances.  Kubert and Redondo bring a darker kind of supernatural street level storytelling!

Joe Kubert is one of the all-time best artists to ever work in American comic books. At the time of this publication of the issue this page is from, the Filipino invasion had occured only a few years earlier. So just think how good of an artist draftsman Nestor Redondo was, that a guy like Kubert, who was already a legend in the industry by 1977, had the confidence and trust in him (and his brother Frank!) to pencil and ink over Kubert's layouts. They did a really nice job honoring Kubert by emulating his style in the inked finishes, too. Kudos on getting such a standout example, Steve, it's absolutely outstanding!

Beautiful page! I love the way the dense black of the cloak in the opening panel draws the eye into the action - and also makes it feel as though Ragman is emerging from the shadows. Glorious!
