Description
5 consecutive newspaper daily strips from 1991 retelling Batman's origin story.

1/29/91 - 2/2/91

Almost a straight re-telling of Bill Finger's 2 page origin story first presented in Detective Comics #33 (November, 1939) and the story later expanded upon in Batman #47 (July, 1948).

Written by William Messner-Loebs (well.... not exactly in this case)
Penciled by Carmine Infantino
Inked by John Nyberg

Iconic imagery!  Bat flying in through the window and the famous "criminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot" are true winning panels imo.  Congrats!

Yeah that 4th strip (2-1-91) is where it's at! The inspiration for Batman explained in just a few panels. 🦇

Origin retold!  All done in a span of a week!  I like that they frame up original art at Wayne Manor.  If they were caught with monoprints, it would cause a stir within the high society types.

the origin of Batman begs to be told by as many artistic voices as we can handle, and here we have a 5 for 1 special! Having it told from Alfed's POV adds some dry humor to a serious origin tale told over a strong week of dailies! Early 1991, what a time.
