Description
Dear DC:

Please collect all the random (and typically GREAT) stories from the legendary Wallace Wood in one place — omnibus, compendium, DC Finest, whatever. I’m constantly discovering “new” storiesI’ve missed like this one, aptly titled “The Collector.” (Pencils and inks by Woody, blueline breakdowns by Al Sirois.) Reprinted only once, 40 years ago, in a cheapie digest.

Woody deserves MUCH better treatment.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Yr. Pal,

Greg

True! DC should do this. Three other good ones from this era were a brilliant Twilight Zone homage in House of Secrets written by Jack Oleck that was reminiscent of Wood's best EC work, The King of the Ring in Plop!, and 'Sno Fun in House of Mystery. And what about those gorgeous Kane(pencils)/Wood(inks) collaborations in an issue of House of Mystery (#80, I believe)? Wood was on fire during this era, before his stroke. Your page is delightful, congrats!

Very fun piece seeing the macabre humor within the horror books.  This one with Wood's art was a step above, even over the straight horror stories.  The third panel is surperb and just fantastically advanced for the cartoon comic style.

Couldn't agree more with your sentiments about a collected edition!  So long overdue.

What is there to say? This is a very fine example of Wally Wood's cartooning abilities!
