Hanna Barbera: Dr. ZIN - The New Adventures of Jonny Quest

Longtime nemesis of the Quest team, Dr. Zin. Since I had a cel of Jonny, it only seemed right that I also get one of his villain. For those interested, there was a Comico run of Jonny that actually went into the first meeting of Jonny (and team) with Dr. Zin. He actually cared for Jonny's actual mother. Not like "love interest" but rather respect and kindness. That Comico run is pretty great if you are a Jonny Quest fan.

As a kid, if I could pick only one cartoon to watch in a weekend, it would have been JONNY QUEST. I LOVED that show. This cel isn't from that timeframe...this is from a 1986's version called "The New Adventures of Jonny Quest". I don't know why this series never worked for me because the concept of the family getting older appeals to me...but the stories just never clicked.

Anyway, the following was pulled from Wikipedia about it: By the mid-1980s, the edited episodes of the original Jonny Quest series (each episode was missing about five minutes of footage edited for time constraints and content) were part of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera's 2nd season lineup, alongside The Jetsons, Challenge of the Gobots, Yogi's Treasure Hunt, Paw Paws, Galtar and the Golden Lance, and The Flintstone Kids. Thirteen episodes were produced in 1986[2] to accompany the originals in the Funtastic World programming block. These episodes were referred to simply as Jonny Quest on their title cards, and were noticeably less violent and more “kid-friendly” than the 1960s originals. This series was followed by two TV-movies, Jonny's Golden Quest and Jonny Quest vs. The Cyber Insects, with the same actors voicing Dr. Quest, Race and Hadji.
