Description
Last year at New York Comic-Con, I changed my mind at the last second and asked Humberto to draw Gambit instead of my usual Chun-Li or Psylocke, and he knocked it out of the park (they must have liked it too because they used it as the color commission example on their pricing board). But there was still a part of me itching to see his take on one of my usuals, so once again I lined up nearly two hours before the convention floor opened and managed to be first on his commission list!

I settled on Chun-Li because while Humberto has drawn Psylocke here and there over the years, I could only find one other instance of his take on Chun-Li - and that was from at least a decade ago. His art rep confirmed this, and I think his unfamiliarity with the character may be why I kept seeing him cranking out other commissions lower on the list throughout the day. Eventually I was asked to pick up the completed piece the next day, but as a bonus, Humberto had Edgar Delgado do the colors instead of doing them himself, and Delgado's colorist background definitely makes the piece pop. May try for Psylocke next year!

Love the puffy shoulders and the spiked gauntlets being so opposite of each other, but so good together as 3D elements Ramos uses.
