Description

For many long-time Cap fans, the return of the original characters (along with the return of Mark Waid and Ron Garney) following "Heroes Reborn," was a welcomed site. And Garney purposefully drew Cap's dramatic return to be a delayed splash... revealing him catching a lit torch he knocked out of terrorists hands with his shield, holding it a style very reminiscent of Lady Liberty herself. This page is the first appearance of Cap's return in his own series and it's big and bold and I love it.

That is an awesome Cap splash by Garney and as you eloquently described is signficant and meaningful to the character's return. The background details here are also really cool and add a lot to the overall image. Great addition, congrats!

It also showed how popular the Waid / Garney run was before Heroes Reborn that they were asked back for this new series right after.
