Micronauts Acroyear by Michael Golden

In a series of Micronauts blank sketch covers I've commission original Micronauts artist Michael Golden over the past few years. This time I thought about getting one of Acroyear, one of the main heroes of the book. Acroyear's helmet is simple in design, so at first, I thought of maybe Acroyear without his helmet. His face underneath is interesting with no nose and a tattoo on his forehead. So, I then pondered about a split face, with half helmet, half face. Then, in a moment of inspiration I remembered recent Darth Vader commissions with the battle-damaged helmet exposing part of his face! Yes, concept realized! The next challenge was I was not going to be at NYCC until the third day on Saturday with my work schedule.

Enter my friend Justin, who would be at the show day one, is a long time Micronauts fan like me and an avid fan of Golden's as well. I knew if anyone could line up this commission for me on day one it would be him. I explained the concept to him online, mailed him my blank cover and reference and sent him payment as well. Justin came through for me Big Time! Thank you once again my friend!

I picked this up from Golden on Saturday at NYCC and was blown away with his vision for my concept! This may be my favorite oof this series of covers so far! I truly want to read the story behind this cover!
