Ken Washio (鷲尾健, Washio Ken), also known as G-1: Ken the Eagle and Gatchaman, is the Science Ninja Team's leader and tactician. His Bird Style is based on the Eagle.

When not in costume, Ken works as an aircraft test pilot and delivers parcels by air mail.

G-1 is a jet fighter piloted by Ken the Eagle, it is usually in the form of Ken's personal jet until transforming with him through the G-Bracelet.

The "Battle of the Planets" English adaptation refers to it as "Sonic Jet".
