Description
Jim was super nice and talkative as he was doodling me a Rhino. He let me know that Rhino was the villain in his very first Spider-Man story (a Spider-Man Unlimited issue), so he has a fondness for the character.

He also asked me why I collected Rhino commissions, which forced me to put some words to my hobby. I like that he has a recognizable profile even in black-and-white and his stand-out feature (the horn) lends itself to more accessible head shots or remarques. Most artists recognize the request immediately, but many have never drawn him before - it's nice to see something new in a style that I appreciate. And what's not to love about the character himself? He's a mook who smashes and wears a big grey suit!

Jim did a fantastic job, and gave me a bit of input too! He was asking me if Rhino had a chin guard and had some questions about the "Rhino eye" too. He ended by encouraging me to come back for one of his more detailed sketches of Rhino in the future.

Completed at Baltimore ComicCon 2025.

You are killing it with the Rhino pieces! I was at Baltimore and it would have been awesome to see this in person.

Seeing him work is a treat!  He hardly has time as it is and catching him drawing a piece you wanted from start to finish must be an experience.
