Dampyr #105 (2008) pages 46-47: Just like talking to a wall

Tess O'Day pulls Kurjak out of the Witches' Sabbath painting, back into the real world.

“Where's your real body?”

“Why? Don’t you like Tess O'Day?”

“She's very pretty, but I want Tesla, my Tesla.”

“Look, she… she's with Samael now.”

“What?!”

“It was the only way to save you! I had to!”

(From a nearby painting) “Tesla! Damn you!”

“Oh, Sonderling-Sinistrari. I forgot about him.”

“What have you done to me?”

“You're completely united with your painting, Gerolamo… a little trick your friend Samael taught me. Blame him. He also told me it won't last forever, so we have to take advantage of it. I need a lighter to set it on fire.”

(Naked Kurjak looks around.) “Right now… um… I don't have one with me.”

Outside the building, Harlan and Nikolaus inspect the wall Bozena shows them.

“Are you sure this was the house, Bozena? It matches the address Tesla gave us on the phone…”

“And that's exactly where I saw the strange girl walk through the wall.”

“The wall is solid.”

(Meyrink) “Bozena and I are spoks, Nikolaus, so we can walk through it.”

“But then you'd end up in the restaurant.”

“Or maybe somewhere else. Let us try.”

“Okay, but be careful. I have a special affection for you.”

“Watch out for Alastor and his soul-sucking sword.”

(The two tourist kids notice them.) “Prague is certainly a strange city. Did you see those two guys talking to the wall?”

“They must be still drunk from early morning. Come on, let’s get away from them.”

Unfortunately, this humorous moment is the last we see of the two tourists. It would have been nice if they actually entered the plot of this story instead of just being background color, but there are so many characters already in play, at least twice as many as the usual issue of Dampyr.
