Thanks! Takes me right back everytime I look at it!
Powerful page from a powerhouse art team! A very memorable scene indeed!
Who knew the cold hearted half terminator Superman was going to turn out to be a bad guy?!? haha
I certainly didn't - this was the guy I'd believed to be the one "true Superman". I hope my instincts are better now...
Great page! I love the split with those 2 half splashes and the inset panel in the middle seperating them exactly centered like that. And Cyborg Supes and Mongul look awesome. Congrats on the highly nostalgic addition for you dude!
Thanks Kavi! Just a well balanced page all around, great exterior shot of a very important location that speaks to the grand plan thes villains are cooking up, and a real Vader & Emperor walking side by side type moment!
Triangle 26 of 1993! Big things happened in 1993 for Superman and the industry as a whole. Destruction of Coast City was a major event and catapulted Mongul to a whole new threat level of villainy.
This story sure does get blamed for some negative aspects of the speculative 90's but at its core, this is a story that delivered & has stayed with me for 30+ years now. It was a great time to be a kid reading comics!
Card and card art collecting FTW!
Who cares about the story beat....it was printed on cardboard!!!
Outstanding page! CongratS!
Thanks Miki! I really do feel quite fortunate with this one!
Needs more hand kissing. :P
If only...
Yeah, the story in that video of how this page came to land in your collection is great. Some might even say it was serendipitous! But I actually had forgotten that you had never posted it to your gallery before today! A great Engine City establishing shot in this wonderful, double half-splash leads right into an amazing shot of the Cyborg Superman, with Mongul as the extra bonus. A real coup to own, man, congrats again!
I too forgot that I never posted it, meant to, but then just never did! Here we are, what 10 months later and I still can't believe how it all unfolded. Great story to go along with a momentous personal pick up! Can't beat that!!
This page is SUPERB!
So many great memories...
