Description

Really enjoyed this first solo Lobster Johnson story, and Jason Armstrong is a great fit for the pulp noir adventure. A spinoff from the Hellboy Mignola-verse, LoJo is a 1930s New York City crime fighter dealing with gangsters as well as paranormal phenomena. After killing a mobster, LoJo usually burns his trademark Lobster claw symbol into the villain's forehead -- signifying that "Justice!" has been done. This page features a cameo of our hero as he saves an unappreciative damsel in distress, and we get a nice look at some of Johnson's faithful associates -- sporting cool hats and old school tech. Armstrong's panel layout draws the reader across the page and offers a fleeting silhouette of the Lobster going about his business.

Very nice storytelling with the retro setting or overhead electrical wires and bricks show the shady part of town. The guy on the bottom left has a jaw like The Goon.
