STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) Original Hand-Painted Box Artwork for Atari ST Game

The original hand-painted box artwork for the 1990 Atari ST game Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The game was released by Domark and served as the flagship title for Atari's new graphics chips.

This dazzling artwork was created in 1988 by eminent video-game box designer Steinar Lund. Some of his other notable works include QS Asteroids (1981), The Last Ninja (1987) and M1 Tank Platoon (1989).

The piece is rendered in acrylic paint and ink, applied with both an airbrush and a standard brush on black illustration board. Lund used erasers to achieve highlights and enhance the image's texture, and has signed the bottom right corner in white paint.

The lot is accompanied by a poster version of the finished box cover. Dimensions: 72.25 cm x 50.5 cm (28.5" x 20")
