Description
Published 2001
written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning

As M'Onel fights the robotic invader, he realizes that his worst fears may have come to pass, that this could herald an invasion that the United Planets are ill prepared to fight.
And he wonders if revealing his true identity as Valor may be what the Universe needs now.

Look at me
I will never pass for a Guichet / Vines for a perfect Valor
Can it be
I'm not meant for page in art
Now I see, that if I were truly to be myself
I would break identity's part

Who in that world DC
Staring straight enemies
Why is my reflection someone I don't know
Somehow ink Dexter Vines
Who's are fans, though I've tried
When will my protection show, who's Lar Gand, in line

From time to time we all must break the chains of our space bondage when the universe needs us. Or it's just M'Onel...

You see, you never quite know what he is going to do, he's so spontaneous.

More sensational visual storytelling!  Love pages that are thick with rich details, but flow so well, serving the story and (obviously) prioritizing the storytelling.  So, so good!  More beautiful inking by Dexter here, and Yvel's ability to compose an incredibly intense and dramatic page that works in concert with (and not at all in opposition to) the word balloons and text panels is -SO- impressive.  GREAT balance in the composition here, conveying all the information (visual and written) in an economical and powerfully compact manner (while still maintaining a sense of Space space, y'know)?  Fantastic!  This just really feels like Starjammers-era Cockrum to me (which is a good thing, of course)! :) Great add, Miki!

An explosive action page! The robotic tentacles are a nice touch.
