In this scene, Donald climbs a tree to rescue a cat stuck on a branch, but the ladder falls to the ground, leaving them both trapped with no way down. Both characters are shown giving in to despair and crying uncontrollably.
The cover was later republished—with minor digital alterations to Donald’s beak and tail—in several international and Dutch editions:
